Sacha McLean is Chief Executive Officer of Blackcomb Aviation which is co-owned by the McLean family of the McLean Group and by Blackcomb’s President, John Morris. Prior to his appointment as CEO, Sacha served as Co-President of the McLean Group and Vice Chair of Blackcomb Aviation. Sacha first joined the McLean Group in 1996 where he was instrumental in the design and subsequent expansion of its flagship production facility, Vancouver Film Studios from a collection of locally managed production warehouses into one of the largest production facilities in Canada. Bolstering the success of Vancouver Film Studios was Sacha's lead role in the development of Pacific Backlot Services, a production equipment rentals company, and Signal Systems, a telecommunications company. In 2005, Vancouver Film Studios was recognized by the Ministry of Economic Development as one of the top 21 exporters in BC for strengthening BC's economy and "solidifying its position as a strategic trade partner”. In 2006, Sacha launched the initiative that would establish the McLean Group’s partnership with aviation entrepreneur, John Morris, in the acquisition and expansion of the Whistler based, Blackcomb Helicopters. By 2008, Blackcomb Helicopters had expanded to become Blackcomb Aviation, a full-service, multi-fleet helicopter and jet charter company with aircraft management services and bases of operation in Vancouver, Victoria, Whistler, Squamish, Pemberton, Bridge River Valley and Sechelt. Sacha McLean is a commercial helicopter pilot, fixed wing pilot and past member of the Vancouver International Airport’s Advisory Environmental Committee. He is a current Board member of the McLean Group and Blackcomb Aviation and past Board member and Vice Chair of the Whistler Film Festival. Prior to joining the McLean Group, Sacha worked in corporate development with a major passenger railroad carrier. Sacha McLean has a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario.
