Jason McLean

Jason McLean was appointed President and Chief Operating Officer of the McLean Group in 2004 after a two year appointment as Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary. In addition to coordinating the dialogue between ownership and management with corporate governance and planning, Jason oversees all major transactions in each of the McLean Group's operating and investment businesses. This includes mortgage and lease financing and commercial lending; the purchase or sale of real estate holdings and other assets; and negotiating all major contracts. Accordingly, Jason is the first point of contact for new investments and financing, and in 2007, executed a series of transformative refinancing transactions involving the Group's flagship production facility, Vancouver Film Studios. As President and COO, Jason directs the Group's legal, HR and communications divisions and is the family lead on operations at Vancouver Film Studios and its sister companies, Pacific Backlot Services and Signal Systems. Prior to joining the McLean Group, Jason worked as Special Assistant in the Office of the Prime Minister of Canada (2000-2002) leading advance teams to Africa, China, the United States and Europe in preparation for NATO and APEC meetings, G8 summits, and other major trade and diplomatic consultations. In 2000, Jason Mclean was called to the Bar of British Columbia (LLB University of British Columbia, 1999) after articling with Stikeman Elliot in Vancouver. Jason was appointed to the Vancouver Police Board, the governing body responsible for providing civilian governance to the Vancouver Police Department in 2008. He is currently serving as the Board’s Finance Chair. Also in 2008, Jason was admitted to Harvard Business School's Owner President Management Program, an executive education program for international business owners. Jason is Senior Vice Chair of the Vancouver Board of Trade and Past Chair of its Communications Standing Committee and Small Business Council.
