Company Overview

David and Brenda McLean have been outspoken champions of entrepreneurship, education, and community services for the past four decades. Their family business, the McLean Group – established in 1972 – has grown from a successful real estate investment and development firm into a thriving second-generation family business active in film and television production (Vancouver Film Studios), production services (Pacific Backlot Services), communications (Signal Systems), construction (Harbour Landing Construction), real estate (Blanca Realty), property management (Erinmore Management), aviation (Blackcomb Aviation), and philanthropy (the McLean McCuaig Foundation).

Historically active in the development and management of high quality income-production real estate projects in and around Vancouver, the McLean Group has also invested in or developed projects in Alberta, Ontario, California, Georgia, Washington, and Hawaii. This has included the acquisition and development of approximately 2,100 residential condominium or apartment units and 200 acres of urban land with an approximate collective and aggregate value of $1 billion.

In addition to real estate, the McLean Group has played a key role in the growth and continued development of British Columbia’s film industry through the creation and development of Vancouver Film Studios. This modern, multi-sound stage studio complex has been enticing national and international film and television projects to Vancouver since 1999.

In 2006, the McLean Group diversified into aviation in partnership with John Morris with whom they own and operate Blackcomb Aviation LP, a helicopter, jet charter, and aircraft management company.
